Developmental Play

A child’s “job” is to play. With functional play, children are able to improve strength, range of motion, coordination, balance and independence. We provide hands on facilitation and neuromuscular re-education to guide children through each stage of development. Every child will meet his/her goals with an individualized plan of care designed to keeps them engaged and progressing.

As a child grows, the nature of play changes. We help children develop the physical building blocks needed to accomplish successful movement. Similar to play, children need fun, functional activities that help build strength, movement patterns and confidence for further growth and advanced mobility. The skeletal system often grows faster than muscles; range of motion, stretching and strengthening exercises are needed to correct muscle imbalances and posture. Creative Rehab offers a continuum of care throughout development to promote success every step of the way.

Competitive sports begin at an early age. With these high physical demands, children need appropriate mobility and strength to facilitate high level activity. Creative Rehab offers sport specific programs in swimming, dance, softball, basketball, running, and soccer. Each sport requires different movements and physical demands. Along with sport performance, we focus on injury prevention. By effectively improving body mechanics and strengthening, we can reduce the risk of injury as the child grows and advances through years of sports related activities.
