Lymphatic Care

What is the lymphatic system?

Your lymphatic system is just as intricate as your circulatory system, running right along your arteries and veins. Lymph fluid transports protein, fat, and foreign materials (like bacteria and viruses) throughout our system. It is closely linked to our gut health and immune system. Movement of all types is a great way to get lymph fluid moving, but at times manual lymph drainage is also needed to help move congested fluid out of unwanted areas.

What is lymphatic drainage?
Manual lymphatic drainage is a very specialized form of massage that uses unique pressure and sequencing to open our body’s invisible watersheds, opening up lymph nodes around the body and moving lymph fluid towards more ideal pathways.
Benefits of lymphatic drainage:
  • Improved immune function
  • detoxification
  • Reduced swelling
  • Improved circulation
  • May help with chronic conditions
Lymphatic Drainage Massage: $150/hour gratuity included
*This is for non-medical massage
What is lymphedema?

Lymphedema is any type of swelling that has existed for greater than 6 weeks. In the US, lymphedema is often associated with cancer and/or cancer treatments, but is also common after abdominal surgery, joint replacements, circulation disruptions, or after physical trauma. Treatment for lymphedema is usually covered by insurance.

Often, compression therapy is prescribed along with manual lymph drainage to maintain the effects of the hands on treatment and prevent fluid accumulation from returning.
